Direction is not absolute

If you're going the wrong direction, you won't end up in the right place. Going South from San Diego won't get me to San Francisco... well, not for a while.

But our lives are (almost) never one-dimensional.

Heading Southeast from San Francisco can take us closer to Los Angeles.

In two-dimensional space, we can treat our movement as a vector, with components South and East. LA is South of San Francisco, part of the vector is aligned, even if the whole thing isn't.

We all have things we want to accomplish, but those goals live in a complicated, higher-dimension space (many more than three).

Every decision can move us closer or further from that goal, but those decisions occur in a higher-dimensional space, too.

The "correct" direction might be unknown, but making an educated guess (on one or two components of a vector) and taking action can move us a bit closer, even only if only a little.

The best part? Life is a game with many turns: guess, observe, interpret, course-correct, and guess again.

Move the vectors in your life the best you can, then observe and learn. Slowly, those components will align and progress will accelerate.
