Life is not a sport
Sports have a limited scope of possibility.
You could hit a home-run and score 4 runs. That's the MAX return you'll get from any one at-bat.
In life, there are no limits.
You could release 1,000 products and do $0 in sales. You could release 1 product and do $1B in sales.
You could get married and realize you don't care about sales and raise a family instead a funding round.
Sports are also zero sum.
Only one team wins the World Series. Everyone else is a varying shade of loser.
In life, the pie gets bigger (mmmm, pie).
You could grow 100x and your competitor could grow 100x. Or 0x. Everyone could win, no one could win.
Playing life like a sport (I want to beat everyone, I need to be constantly busy) is non-optimal.
We have to give ourselves permission to play a different game with different rules and rewards.
This is hidden in plain sight and an amusing fact of the world we live in.
