A speedometer does not a measure how quickly we arrive.
In fact, driving recklessly (or the wrong direction) is an easy way to never arrive.
In tech, there's a culture of "move fast and break things" that comes at the expense of quality.
If success was about quantity or speed, this would make sense. It is not.
In life, there are no limits. You could ship 1,000 products and do $0 in sales. You could ship 1 product and do $1B in sales.
But if that 1 product takes 100x longer, how likely are you to spend the extra time?
If I never give myself permission to sit down and be patient, I'll never know.
If I never give myself permission to learn, I'll never grow. Learning might mean a pause in "producing" or shipping.
Don't optimize for the speedometer. Optimize for the journey.
